Winter has arrived 1

Well a couple of weeks ago it was so hot here in Melbourne I could barely move. Now the cold weather has come in and to be honest, I wish it was a bit warmer, but you cant have everything.
So tomorrow being payday I am off to buy winter pyjamas and warm pants and jumpers for my daughter as she is going through another growth spurt, making her current pants look like knicker bockers.
Nearing 10, she has become fashion conscience so I have to take her along to choose her own clothes. Now I think I have exceptional taste but it seems what I think is pretty cool is actually not. I use to think it was a sign of my age but now see it as her individuality and personality forming and this is how she expresses herself.
I personally wasn't like this till I was about 14 or 15. My, how times have changed.
Anyways being on a budget as always, I will scout around ebay, some op shops and pop a layby on. I find Best and Less pretty reasonable price wise and they do have some stuff that I think is quite funky and of course Kmart where i tend to wait until they have a sale on and likewise with Target who have launched the ever so pricey but funky Veronicas range. Only prob I found with waiting for the sales is the availability of sizing. It seems the sizes I need are all sold out. Was there a massive baby boom around 1998?
Even though she likes to pick her clothes out, I still try to intervene with my motherly advice as to what is suitable for winter. She wants to look cool, I want her to be warm and not freeze to death.
