Saving money and time with ebay
April 3rd 2008 08:15
Today I embarked on my mission to get my daughter decked out for winter in warm but funky clothes for winter. I jumped on ebay and found a couple of listings of which she approved of and placed them on watch, noting the finishing times.
We went about doing our regular shopping, stopping at Kmart and Target along the way, but I couldn't justify the price and with only $60 max. to spare this week, I felt hopeful about our ebay sightings.
Just as well. This evening we won both auctions we had our sights set on. 2 long sleeve tops, 1 short sleeve and 3 pairs track suit style pants for $34.99 sold in one pack including postage and 1 pair of Beanie Kids pyjamas for $10.99 inc. postage. Ok, they may be second hand and they haven't arrived yet but you cant get second hand clothes that cheap in the op shop! Not only that but the petrol, running around looking in op shops etc.
We did layby a long sleeve top ($13.59), jumper/top ($16.00) and leggings ($12.99) in Target totalling $42.58.
So for $82.56, I haven't done to bad. I am also going to knit a jumper which should only take a couple of weeks to finish and will knit a matching scarf. Combined with what she has that still fits her, I think we may have a funky winter wardrobe for under $100 (I bought the wool end of last winter for $1 a ball!).
Now, I just need something for me (aren't we always last)!
