Dear Mum, happy fathers day

Happy Father's Day Mum!!]I absoolutely love reading and hearing those words!!!The fact my now 10yo daughter has recognised me since she was 4 as her Mum/Dad and doesn't even blink an eye at stating ``Well you do everything a Dad and Mum would do.''
She gets $10 each year to spend at the school Fathers Day stall and always comes home with ``Fathery'' gifts such as one year I got a wallet ``because the zip on mine gets stuck'' or the best was car wash products ``because my car is very dirty.'' She even got out Fathers Day morning with a bucket and washed the car for me.
As much as it brings me joy and I feel so proud of how she copes with the rejection and ignorance on her fathers side, it really saddens me that her own father cannot make the effort nor see it as an important day and realise this is about her not him.
I am happy to lap up the presents and free car washes just to see the excitement and joy it gives her.
Why would any parent want to miss out on that? It just doesn't make sense to me.........
